Raising Funds to Help Children with Cancer
Hello all, I hope that everyone had a great summer. I am looking forward to some cooler weather and getting back into riding.
The next Cody Ride will be held on Saturday March 7, 2015. We have been asked by several people to change things up, so next year we are going to be doing a porker run. We are still working out the details and I will post them on the web page as we figure them out.
I am looking forward to seeing all of you in March and as always remember to tell everyone you know about the ride and bring them out with you.
Take care and we will talk soon.
This year we had 267 riders at Jawbone and we raised $24,000. That is the largest amount ever and the biggest group of riders we have ever had. This would not have been possible without all of you being part of our event.
I want you to know where your money is going to so here is a list of places we have donated to so far.
The cost of the food at Jawbone was $3100, the Cody ride apperal was $2300, I donated $5000 to the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation, $800 each to Make-A-Wish and Comfort Zone Camp.
On April 5, I donated $1500 to an 8 year old boy from Riverside, that has Lukemea.
I purchased $2000 in video games, DVD's and gift cards for the kids at CHOC. I also purchased about $2000 worth of items for Miller's Chrildrens Hospital.
Jean (Cody's Mom) did a raffle for folks that did not attend Cody's Ride. She raised $5300 and I added $1200 to that and she sent a $6500 check to St. Judes Hospital.
In October, I donated about $700 worth of Halloween costumes to the kids at CHLA, $400 to a cancer walk and $500 to a family that lost their father to cancer.
Again, thank you to everyone who participated in our event. We are very thankful for the support and generosity of each and everyone of you.
Loyd (Cody's Dad).
